We have contracted Midway Occupational Health Services to undertake Workplace Assessments, since November 2008.
We have an Occupational Health Nurse visit for one day per week. Appointments are set up by the Health & Safety Administrator and emailed to the Occ Health Nurse prior to her scheduled day. This service has proved very beneficial to us in managing reported discomfort, pain and injury and also valuable for preventative assessments. Midway Occupational Health Services, if needed will go over and above their contract and, depending on availability, see staff outside of the contracted days, if it is an urgent case. This is much appreciated.
At times we have requested assessments for staff based out of Palmerston North and Midway Occupational Health Services have managed this well. On occasion we have asked the Occ Health Nurse to provide manual handling training or group seminars on workstation set ups and they are always more than happy to provide this. We have also used the services of the Occ Health Nurse in rehabilitative situations, where we have had staff returning from sick leave and this has also proved very beneficial for both the staff member concerned and the company.
Reports are delivered to the Health & Safety Administrator at the end of the Occ Health Nurse’s day, where a brief run-down of the day’s appointments is given so we are aware of any issues. Follow up assessments are always recommended where necessary.
Having worked with Midway Occupational Health Services since the beginning of the contract, I can honestly say I am very happy with the service they provide and all staff I have dealt with are qualified professionals who are a pleasure to work with. Allyson Harwood is also available to support the Nurse with any difficult ergonomic or rehabilitative situations.
All in all I would recommend Midway Occupational Health Services as a provider for Workstation Assessment Services.
